Krotos Studio 2.8 is out. It rebuilds the browser, the part of the app where you find and load presets, around finding the right sound faster. Search has been rewritten, there is a new tag system, a row of quick filters, and you can now favourite any preset.
Preset favourites
Favouriting has been the most requested feature from Krotos Studio users, and it is in this release.
Right-click any preset, or click the star icon on its thumbnail, to add it to your Favourites. This works for factory presets and for presets you have created yourself.
Your Favourites list is reached through the new Favourites quick filter. The list is fully searchable, listed by category, and filterable using the new tag system. To remove something, right-click it or press the star again while browsing your favourites.
Rewritten search
Search has been rebuilt from the ground up and optimised for speed and accuracy. It now returns similar results alongside exact matches and supports semantic search, so describing the sound you want works when you cannot remember the preset name.
Tags
The new tag system gives single-click access to the searches users run most often. Click a tag to see matching presets straight away, with no typing. Use the arrows to scroll through the full set. Tags also filter your Favourites list.
Quick filters
A new filter row takes you straight to a specific part of your library.
- New shows content you have just installed, so a fresh pack is one click away.
- User Presets lists every preset you have created or saved in one place. It is searchable, and each preset can be added to Favourites.
- Favourites opens your starred list.
- The Factory library and other filters are also available here.
Currently loaded preset
Krotos Studio now holds hundreds of presets, so the top bar shows which preset you currently have loaded.
Your existing content is unaffected
This is a browser experience update. Your presets are not changed, nothing needs migrating, and you can start favouriting content as soon as you update.
