Krotos Studio is a platform for designing custom sound effects quickly and easily. It includes hundreds of presets for sound effects of most use cases you’ll need in your content; Ambiences, Foley, Whooshes/Transitions, Footsteps and many more!
It can be run as a standalone app or as a VST/AU/AAX plugin in most DAWs. The software is used by both content creators and post production professionals. It is offered on an affordable subscription plan, with monthly or annual options. These subscriptions offer hundreds of SFX presets, with more presets added every month.
Krotos Studio Pro offers deeper control of the core workflow offered by Krotos Studio. By accessing the ‘Edit mode’ users can add their own sounds and control every aspect of existing Krotos Studio presets. Users can design their own presets for designing and performing custom sound effects, building their own library of unique tools for high speed sound design.

Both subscriptions offer the same workflow, presets and new packs each month. Edit mode - which gives you the opportunity to add your own sounds or edit presets - is only available in Krotos Studio Pro.
Yes! You can get a fully functional 7-day trial of Krotos Studio/Krotos Pro. You will have get access to all the content, presets and edit mode seven days.
If you wish to then continue with Krotos Studio or Krotos Studio Pro, complete the seven-day trial and move your plan to move into the full version. If you cancel your trial within the seven day period, you will not be charged. You can only take the trial once.
If you have a Krotos Studio plan, you can login and click ‘Try for Free’ on the main product page. If you are upgrading to a Krotos Studio Pro subscription, you will be offered credits based on how much time is remaining on your current Krotos Studio plan. This is the case for both monthly and annual subscriptions. You will see the credits in your account when you are logged in.
The credit will be used towards the cost of the upgrade plan until it is depleted. If the credit is more than the cost of the first term of the plan you are upgrading to, the remaining credits will go towards each next term until depleted.
Existing paying customers are entitled to loyalty upgrade pricing. This will have been provided by email.

To purchase Krotos Studio Pro, you will need to create an account at krotos.studio to checkout, if you have not already done so.
You can use both versions of Krotos Studio as a standalone application and as a VST/AU/AAX plugin in your favorite DAW. To use Krotos Studio in a Non-Linear Editor such as Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, you can use the standalone app and drag and drop your performances/recordings directly into the timeline.
In Da Vinci Resolve, you can use Krotos Studio as a plugin directly in the Fairlight tab. We have thoroughly tested on the following hosts, and can guarantee full performance: Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Reaper. The following hosts have been tested, but you may experience some issues: Logic Pro, Cubase, Nuendo, Studio One and DaVinci Resolve.
Any other DAWs or host software are not supported at this time. You may find that the plugin works as expected, but if you have issues please contact support. We will expand full support for other hosts in due course.
Yes, you can pay either monthly or annually.
Plus, we offer a discount for annual subscriptions. Make your selection at checkout, start your free seven-day trial, and you will be billed on day eight for whichever plan you have selected.
Yes, absolutely, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Simply click cancel within your account. Your subscription will be set to "pending cancellation" and won’t renew at the next payment date.
Any sounds you have created with Krotos Studio/Pro during your subscription are yours and can be used outside the subscription period, to keep forever, royalty-free.
If you cancel during your seven-day trial, you will not be charged.
At this time Krotos Studio and Krotos Studio Pro are only available on monthly/yearly subscription plans.
Krotos Studio supports multiple stereo channel output in all supported hosts. Check our tutorials and the manual for more details. The plugin does not support 5.1 or other surround formats at this time, but the stereo outputs from the plugin can easily be used as part of a surround mix.

In Krotos Studio, you are limited to the presets, and you cannot add your own sounds.
In Krotos Studio Pro, you can add your own sounds, remove and swap sounds from existing presets and much more. Up to 6,000 sounds can be imported per preset.
Once Krotos Studio has installed:
1. Click on the burger menu in the top left corner
2. Head to ‘Settings’ and select ‘Library’
3. Click on ‘Change Library Assets Location’
At this stage you need to be connected to the internet to use Krotos Studio. Without a connection you may find your session is interrupted and you may not be able to use the plugin.

Krotos Studio software requires:
A Mac Intel computer with a minimum of 2.4 GHz Intel Dual Core Processor, 4 GB of RAM and the operating system OS X 10.13, or later.
Or
Windows computer with a minimum of 2.4 GHz Intel Dual Core Processor, 4 GB of RAM, and the operating system Windows 10 or above 10.5GB disk space (can also be installed on an external drive).
